How a pick gets on the page

JobToTool is organised by the job you are trying to finish. A page answers one question: which AI tool should I use for this? The answer is two or three ranked picks. A tool that did not earn a rank does not appear as one.

How we choose

Each pick has a plain-English verdict of two or three sentences, a best-for line, a pricing summary (whether there is a free tier, and a starting price when one is public), and a last-checked date. We link the tool’s own site. If a link is an affiliate link, the record stores that URL separately and the page says so. Rank does not move because a link pays.

A published task cannot point at placeholder tools. Draft entries stay in the repo so the pages can be built and tested, and the production build leaves them out.

How often we check

The date on a pick is the last time a person confirmed the verdict still matches the product. We recheck when something material changes, and we aim to look again within a few weeks of that change. A date that is getting old stays on the page. We do not pretend a pick is fresh.

New this week lists tasks touched in the seven days before the site was built.

Sponsored slots

The data can hold one sponsored slot per task. It is not a rank, it is not inside the pick list, and the page labels it Sponsored with the line “Paid placement. Not a pick.” None are live.

Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links may be affiliate links. They are optional on the tool record. An affiliate link does not buy a rank and does not change a verdict. When one is used, the link text says it is an affiliate link.
